Awit-Sayaw Making You a Star
Awit-Sayaw Year 12th |
The city government of La Carlota has her own way of being thankful and how she facilitates it. She is very generous and helpful for the talented residents of La Carlota and her neighboring towns and cities in providing an opportunity for them to become a celebrity by showing their talent in singing and dancing.
And this could be provided by Awit-Sayaw which is one the main attractions in the annual week-long La Carlota Pasalamat Festival which is usually held a week before May 1. This is a thanksgiving merrymaking of the La Carlotenos or the Mangkasanon.
The schedule for this year's Pasalamat Festival is April 27 to May 3 inclusive.
This year's Awit-Sayaw is tagged as an overdose of suprises. It is a challenge for every participant to become a star in their own unique way of showing off their talent in singing and dancing.
The singing category is classified into two: the bulilit, ages 7 to 12 and the adult, ages 15 to 27 years old.
While Hataw sa Galaw (dance category), it is to be participated in by a dance group of 5 members of all ages. A whole day audition had already started on January 31 and February 1, 2015 at the city hall main building. Miss Maria Janeth B. Joseph, Sir Gary Alositain, and Mr. TeeJie Parcon took charge of this audition.
Why not take your time to visit the small city of La Carlota and witness this kind of talent showcase. La Carlota is a 45-kilometer from Bacolod city, the capital of Negros Occidental. It could be reached through a bus, a taxi, or a public vehicle utility.
Come and enjoy an overdose of fun and surprises. See you there!

ReplyDeleteNo, I'm not. I'm just one of the audience who will document the momentous events of the city every year. I love following the event and share it to my friends around the country or even outside.
Delete12 years of this event just shows how much talented La Carlota is. I'm sure the participants this year are well prepared for this one.
ReplyDeleteEvery year every group of contest is showing their best performance. The panel of judges found it too difficult to come with the best of the best.
Deletewow! I love La Carlota, for many years now, am privileged to be invited as a judge in the dace parade and painting competition. I haven't witness this AWIT-SAYAW :)
ReplyDeleteI've not known that you're one of the judges in the Pasalamat street dance competition and other contest. If it so happened that I've known it earlier, probably we've been acquainted with each other.
